Aster House is my Art-Deco villa right in the heart of Sliema, lovingly restored over three years and designed from the ground up to work for families and friends. The same villa serves a multigenerational family on a school holiday, a group of friends celebrating a milestone birthday, and a couple on an anniversary getaway, without any of them having to compromise on what they came for.
Here is how Aster House is set up for the different stays guests come for.
Family ready means more than child tolerant. Three super king bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a media room with a 2 metre projector screen for film nights, and a kitchen properly equipped for cooking with kids underfoot. Sliema’s promenade is 150 metres (a 2 minute walk) away, easy for buggies, easy for tired legs, and packed with cafés and gelaterias for the inevitable mid-walk pit stop.
Grandparents, parents and kids under one roof, without the bathroom queue, the noise wars, or the layout compromises that ruin a holiday. Each bedroom has its own ensuite. The media room and rooftop give the older kids and the adults their own corners. And the central Sliema location means grandparents who prefer a quiet evening can walk to a restaurant while the parents put the little ones to bed.
Up to 9 friends in one villa, with three super king ensuites, flexible sofa beds, and a rooftop set up for sundowners. The dining terrace fits everyone, the gas BBQ saves a small fortune in restaurant bills, and the 1930s outdoor tub is exactly the kind of detail your group will still be talking about a year later.
Aster House is not a function venue, but it is often better than one. The villa hosts your group privately, and Sliema’s best restaurants, bars and seafront walks are a few minutes away on foot. Most milestone stays book the full villa for 3 to 5 nights so the celebration spreads across mornings, afternoons and evenings rather than getting compressed into one nervous dinner.
January and February in Malta are warmer than most of Europe, and Aster House is at its quietest and best value during those weeks. Easter, October half-term and Christmas all have their own charm in Sliema. Christmas markets, mild swimming weather in late October, and a properly festive feel through December.
Aster House is the same villa for every guest, but different things matter for different stays. These pages cover the angles guests ask about most often.
Up to 9 guests across three super king ensuite bedrooms and two sofa beds (one in the master suite, one in the media room). All bedrooms have their own bathroom.
Is the villa suitable for young children?
Yes. The villa is properly family ready, not just child tolerant. Cots, flexible sleeping options, blackout-friendly rooms, and a family-equipped kitchen are all set up to make travelling with little ones easier.
Can we host a hen party, stag do or large event at the villa?
No. Aster House is a residential villa in a quiet Sliema street and we do not accept hen parties, stag dos, weddings or large events. We host families and friends on private holiday stays only.
Is parking available at the villa?
On-street parking near the villa is currently free, but spaces depend on the day. Most guests find Sliema walkable enough that they don’t need a car.
How far is the airport?
Malta International Airport is about 25 minutes by taxi from Sliema. I can arrange a private transfer if it makes your arrival easier.
Is the villa accessible for elderly guests or anyone with limited mobility?
There is a staircase between floors, with no lift, so the layout suits guests who can manage stairs comfortably. Send me a message before booking and I will walk you through the layout so you know what to expect.
Can we arrange early check-in or late check-out?
Yes, whenever possible. It depends on other guests arriving or departing, but we are always flexible where we can be.
